Most customer success leaders prioritize hiring experienced, high-performing CSMs. However, it has become increasingly difficult to find a Customer Success Manager in recent years. Because of this, hiring managers must be creative and are focused on hiring a first-time CSMs with no relevant experience. In hiring one, they look at coachability, emotional intelligence, attitude, and motivation, among other things. Over 30% of Brian Hartley’s team of CSMs were hired despite not having any previous experience.
