Description
In this very insightful interview, Martin Refalo and I discuss what it means to train “hard” for the goal of muscle hypertrophy; whether you need to train to complete muscular failure to maximise hypertrophy; and how to program failure to maximise its potential benefits and minimise potential downsides.
Martin is a coach and Education Manager at JPS Health and Fitness in Melbourne, Australia. He’s currently pursuing a PhD in Exercise Science and has recently authored a systematic review and meta-analysis on the influence of proximity to failure on muscle hypertrophy.
Martin is keen to conduct research that can be translated into practical applications for lifters.
In this episode, he delivers a wealth of evidence-based suggestions that you can start applying into your program as soon as you’re done listening.
