In Part 1 of this two-part interview, I interview Brandon DaCruz on how to set yourself up for a successful fat loss phase.
We discussed the criteria to use in order to assess whether you’re ready to diet; what you need to do in order to prime yourself for fat loss if you aren’t quite ready yet; and how to plan a fat loss phase, including diet breaks and refeeds.
Brandon is an online nutrition and physique coach, internationally published fitness model, and National Level NPC competitor.
He’s been featured in publications like Men’s Fitness Magazine, Muscular Development, Bodybuilding.com, and the Alan Aragon Research Review, for which he’s been a contributing author.
Brandon has spent the past 14 years working in the fitness industry and believes in taking an evidence-informed approach, blending what’s been proven in the research with his own anecdotal and first-hand, in-the-trenches experience having worked with over 1000 clients to improve body composition, optimise performance, and enhance health in a sustainable manner.
