Description

The plaintiff says he runs a pet cemetery and crematory. He claims that after he gave the defendant’s deceased pet a private cremation, the defendant ghosted him. He’s suing for the cremation fee. The defendant says he wanted to go to the crematorium, but the plaintiff refused. He claims he isn’t sure the ashes are from his dog.
Then, the plaintiff says she hired the defendant to work on her house, but he never completed the job — even though she paid him in full. She’s suing him for a refund. The defendant says the only thing he didn’t finish was installing closet doors. He insists he did a good job.
Plus, the plaintiffs says they put down a deposit on an apartment, but then the defendant turned around and said it was no longer available on the agreed-upon move-in date. They’re suing for a refund. The defendant says she was never paid in full, and she claims the plaintiffs were the ones who backed out.

For more than two decades, Milian has dispensed justice and provided legal insight in the courtroom where justice and reality collide. And now, you can take the show on the go with "The People’s Court Podcast." "The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian's decisions – based on current law – are final and binding. Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.
