Description

The plaintiff says she bought a bird from the defendant, but it died three hours later. She brought the bird back and the defendant told her to get an autopsy, which she did, and the animal had a pre-existing condition. She’s suing for her money back. The defendant says the bird was perfectly healthy and would have lived 80 years, but the plaintiff killed the bird by leaving it in a hot car in Florida. He denies owing her anything.
The plaintiff says she brought her expensive designer skirt to the defendant for alteration, but the woman butchered it. She can’t possibly wear it, so she’s suing for the cost and aggravation. The defendant says she’s been in business for years with 100 happy clients. She claims the plaintiff is nuts for accusing the defendant of shortening the hem so she could steal fabric. She’s countersuing for harassment.
The plaintiff says he loaned the defendant some money, but when the defendant’s tax refund came in, he bought a fancy new truck, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant says he let the plaintiff stay with him for free when he lost his home, and he denies owing anything. He’s countersuing for defamation.

For more than two decades, Milian has dispensed justice and provided legal insight in the courtroom where justice and reality collide. "The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian's decisions – based on current law – are final and binding. Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.
