Description

The plaintiff says he paid the defendant for a remote-controlled airplane, but he never received it and the defendant won’t issue a refund. He’s suing for what he’s owed. The defendant says he shipped the plane on a Greyhound bus, which encountered a hurricane. He says it’s not his fault the plaintiff never got the plane, so he’s not refunding anything.
Then, the plaintiff says he was walking his well-behaved dog on a leash when the defendant’s off-leash dog attacked his pet. He’s suing him for vet bills. The defendant says he’s an amputee and his dog is a wonderful service animal who has never been aggressive. He denies owing a thing.
Plus, in the third case, the plaintiff says the defendants are her former landlords, who sold the house she was renting and almost left her homeless during the pandemic. She’s suing for her security deposit. The defendants say they agreed to return the deposit until the plaintiff stayed an extra two months past their agreement.

"The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian.
