Description

The plaintiff says the defendant’s dog got out of his electric fence and killed her dog. She claims the defendant told her he’d pay for the cremation and a new dog but then backed out, so she’s suing. The defendant says the plaintiff’s Yorkie was running loose and came over and harassed his pit bull, and a fight ensued.
The plaintiff says she bought a teeth whitening coupon from the company the defendant represents, but it doesn’t include the necessary additional dental work. She claims it was a fraud, so she’s suing to be removed from the collections company the defendant works for, plus 1 cent. The defendant says he was hired to collect a debt for a non-refundable coupon, and he won’t remove her name until the plaintiff pays her debt. He’s countersuing for the amount of the coupon, plus his commission.
The plaintiff says he and two other people agreed to rent an apartment, but the deal fell through. He claims the defendant got a refund check from the landlord and then skipped out with the whole thing. He’s suing for what he’s owed. The defendant says the plaintiff backed out and left her in the lurch. She denies owing him anything.

"The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian's decisions – based on current law – are final and binding. Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.
