Description

The plaintiff leased her horse to the defendant for free in exchange for feeding and taking care of the horse. The plaintiff claims the defendant took terrible care of the horse and left him malnourished, so she rescued him. She’s suing for vet bills. The defendant argues she and her husband split up, so she wasn’t able to contact the plaintiff. She thinks her ex is behind the whole thing.
Then, the plaintiff took his car to the defendant’s shop for an oil change, but when he got it back, the engine was messed up. He claims the defendant’s worker broke the gas detection pump, and it was very expensive to fix. He’s suing for car damages. The defendant argues the car has 200,000 miles on it, so obviously it was going to have issues.
Plus, the plaintiff rented an apartment to the defendant for three years. He claims the defendant up and left in the middle of the night and left the place in a total mess. He’s suing for the cleaning costs. The defendant argues he left the place perfectly clean. He says he was on a month-to-month lease and the apartment was infested with pests, so he doesn’t owe. He’s countersuing for money owed.
