Description

The plaintiff was hired to drive a truck for the defendant but hasn’t been paid yet, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant claims during the first delivery, the plaintiff damaged the goods, and during the second job, he disappeared on the road for three days. The defendant insists he lost money because of the plaintiff, so he shouldn’t have to pay him.
Then, the plaintiff rented an apartment owned by the defendant, but when he moved in, there were items left behind from the former tenant. The plaintiff claims he asked the defendant to remove the belongings, but he refused, so the plaintiff is suing for storage fees. The defendant says he tried to remove the washer and dryer left behind, but the plaintiff would never give him access to get them out, so the defendant denies owing anything.
Plus, the plaintiff brought his car into the defendant’s repair shop but claims the defendant caused problems and made it worse, so the plaintiff is suing for a refund. The defendant says the plaintiff self-diagnosed the car’s problems, and he fixed everything he was hired to do, so the defendant denies owing anything.

The honorable Judge Marilyn Milian presides over the four-time Emmy award winning "The People’s Court." For more than two decades, Milian has dispensed justice and provided legal insight in the courtroom where justice and reality collide. And now, you can take the show on the go with "The People’s Court Podcast." "The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian's decisions – based on current law – are final and binding. Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.
