Learning to have fun is a big part of the healing process. ESPECIALLY when nothing feels, sounds, or seems fun! In this episode, we take a look at the following: The reasons we don't allow ourselves to have fun, such as:We are taking our healing so seriously that we simply forget to have fun. We don’t feel like we have earned it or deserve it yet. We are addicted to feeling bad, and we have carried that over into our healing process.We were never allowed to have fun, so we don’t know what it looks or feels like. The benefits of play in healing: Research shows that play stimulates endorphins, oxytocin, dopamine, norepinephrine, GABA, and serotonin. This release of positive chemicals can help break the loop and addiction to feeling bad!Play shows our brains that we believe we are worthy of having fun.It helps lighten up the healing journey and keeps us from “healing burnout.”Connecting us with our inner child that needs to be given permission to heal and play. If you don’t know how to play, you’re in good company. I didn’t either. I’m still learning. Yes, you might feel awkward and even phony in the beginning. That’s okay. You will get there.
