Her Billionaire Man Book 2 Suspense - Olivia Summer

    Chapter One

The last thing I expected to hear, that hot afternoon, was me and Craig yelling at each other, with another person laying claim to Janey's Pharmaceutical.

It’s been one chaotic mess between us since the minute I had announced my claim to the multi-billion-dollar corporation to Craig, the sitting CEO alongside the board of directors, a week ago. Craig hadn’t only made it obvious I had no place at his grandmother's Corp. but had also made sure every second I spent in the company was a living hell. And, just when I thought that was the last of it, his mother emerged. She arrived, battle-ready, to seize the pharmaceutical from me, Amanda Smith, the legal custodian of Boosh, the parrot who was the rightful owner of Janey's pharmaceutical, thanks to late Mrs. Janey's generosity. How hilariously interesting, right?

Well, even though I was too stunned and tongue-tied to say a word, I couldn’t hold back the laughter I felt rising inside me at what Madison Vans had just said. It was Craig who recovered from the shock first. He stared at his mom for a minute, then he said, Ma, what did you just say?

You heard me, son, She said, sitting down comfortably.

Mom, you were supposed to be in Paris, at your fashion house, remember ... The same one you told Granny you chose over the corporation, yeah? Craig was still giving her the awestricken glare.

Yeah, yeah, tell me about it, son … hmmm ... hmmm, I know, right, she said sarcastically.

Stop it, mom ... just quit the act already, he said, angrily.

Well, son, I am not stopping. Your mother is just getting started.

Getting started ... I glared at them, mother and son banter about the Corporation, without saying a word. My anger at Craig had diminished, momentarily. I felt this would be one long conversation, so I went to one of the chairs and sat down to enjoy the drama unfolding before me. I wished I had bought popcorn along too ...

Craig went over to his mom to hug her. She welcomed him with an outstretched arm.

This was what you ought to have done instead of having words with me, son, she said, patting his back.

How was the trip, Mom? Jet lag?

Nah, darling, I am fine... She said, smiling.

So …? Craig started hoping his mother was just pulling his leg about the company, earlier.

I meant what I said … I have to take the pharmaceutical, and it was supposed to be mine in the first place, you know before I left for Paris. She finished, when Craig said,

There you go again, ma, this fight for ownership has got to stop, already, Craig snorted in anger.

Look, son, my mother-in-law had that property in my name till late last year ... I guess getting old made her hasty, and now I hear this talk about a strange young lady coming to take it over ... Is that true? She asked, looking at Craig for answers.

Well, mom, you heard right, and you see that lady over there? he said, pointing in my direction.

    Yes?

    Now that's the strange lady.

My, My, no way! She must’ve conned my mother-in-law into it … no way ... she asserted, not minding I was in the room too.

    "That’s exactly what
