Since Melissa had ignorantly walked in on my plan, I may as well re-strategize. Perhaps it wasn’t a total waste after all. Now it was time to show the Vans, and everyone hypnotized by their fake niceness, what monsters they truly were. Melissa would be the scapegoat.

I have missed you, my wife, I whispered under my breath, watching to see if she would pull away. I needed to be sure she wanted this just as much as I did. If she wasn’t ready for anything intimate yet, I would understand and give her time. But I sincerely wanted her to be ready. It’d been so long without her touch.

Mandy stood there facing the window that overlooked the foyer. She held her hand over her shoulder, making a funny face, and said nothing for a while.
