{Cassidy}

Five long, miserable years after Cassie’s death, I was ready to take revenge. The McGills had to pay for what they did to my family. Killing my twin sister damaged a lot inside me, more than I could imagine.

I dialed Jake Stewart's contact number as I made my way to the hotel lobby. When he answered, he gave me his location, and I headed over to the west wing of the private property that would serve as our base throughout the operation.

Operation ‘Make the McGills Pay’ was in stage three. We had been able to make a fail-proof plan for half a decade. Jake and I had become partners in mischief when we found solace in each other that day at St. Louise's mental home. Against my will, that horrible day flashed through my mind as I got into the elevator.

The stage lights blinded me for the briefest moment, but I blinked away the stars in my eyes. Taking a deep breath, I stepped forward, ready to seize the spotlight. The thunderous applause greeted me like a tidal wave, and I couldn’t help but smile, feeling a surge of pride. I had done it!  This was one of the proudest moments in my career.

The interviewer, a charismatic woman with an infectious smile, extended her hand. Sara had been after me for weeks for this interview, and nobody breathed easy with Sara breathing down their neck.

Welcome, Cassidy Adams! We’re thrilled to have you here today, she said, her voice filled with genuine enthusiasm.  I shook her hand with a firm grasp.

Thank you for having me, I replied, my voice laced with excitement.

She gestured for us to take our seats, and the cameras focused on us. The world was watching, waiting to hear my story. As the questions began, I spoke from the depths of my passion.

I’ve always believed in the power of the media to transform lives in a positive light, I said, my voice steady. When the government recognized our dedication and excellence, it was a validation of our hard work.
