    Synopsis

    Craig Vans

Losing my baby hurts deeply and watching Mandy so weak, woke up something in me; a quest to see that the brutal culprit responsible for these atrocities gets the needle and I will not stop until this becomes a reality.

    Anne

I was scared of losing Maurice, now that the case was over and it was time to go, and I had to throw away my pride to beg him to stay, but he showed me he was just into me for a thrilling game. To Maurice, duty calls always come first, and this reality actually hurt deeper than a knife through my heart.

    Natalie

Jake was going to make a mess of my perfect life, and I had to do what was best for me and my family’s name, just like I did five years ago. Not one member of the press must know that their perfect Mayor McGill had a secret that must never see the light of day, especially since this was the last year of his mayoral term and he needed their trust to win the seat for a second term.

    Jake

I had planned a perfect life after law school, to work in a reputable law firm and raise a family, but that dream was thwarted when I got wrapped up in a messy accident scandal with my girlfriend, Lauren, the Mayor’s daughter…

The cries were loud, and I could tell the person was in very deep pain, which got me even more scared.

Lauren, I think we just hit someone! Jake whispered in a scared voice, his eyes almost popping out of their sockets.

I couldn’t say anything; I was in a panic, and my body had frozen in reaction. I was numb to the bones! Jake touched my shoulder and I jerked up.

We need to check who it is! Maybe they’ve just got bruises, Jake said, and I nodded but still didn’t move. The person was still making whimpering, pained sounds.

Jake opened his door and then stepped out of the car. He peeped inside and said, Come out, Lauren. We have to do this together!

NO, I can’t! What if they are in too much pain and we cannot help them? I shrugged.

Come out, Lauren, please! I need you here right now! Jake pleaded.

I had to be there for him. This was beyond both of us. So I reached for the door handle, pushed it back, slowly stepped out of the car, and walked around it. Jake was right, we had just bumped into a woman, and she was lying face down in a
