    The Vans family

Despite going through all the drama in the world, we just didn’t let it stop our marital bliss. Then Boosh fell sick and we panicked; never in all the years of being together had we imagined that our parrot was ever going to be in such a state. To keep her healthy, we took the Vet’s advice to get her a nanny and a companion, at the same time, hoping this wouldn’t be the start of yet another drama for our family.

My career is hanging by a thread; only one more chance to prove I still have what it takes to pin down this serial killer. Yet, what comes first is bedding the number one lady on the POI list.

    Anne

"I was still nowhere near vindicating myself about being innocent in the serial killing case under investigation. And what I found even more appealing was the agent in charge, as everything about him just made me want to try out the Kama S utra!

"The company needed revamping, and as CEO of Tanners’ Oil, now was the best time for me to implement my bigger plans for the future. This also was the way to make sure my bride-to-be had a place at the table. I just had to find her before the cops did and before she did any more ‘body chopping!Since my old man had just made a wish he shouldn’t have, she was now out to have my back."

I was feeling more restless, so I had to walk out of the hall to get some air and because I needed to see Arabella. She would be throwing tantrums about missing her after-party, and the last time she did that, a dozen corpses filled the morgue!

In my haste to get out of the hall fast enough, I bumped into her, the same blonde I had seen hurry out of the room earlier. Watch it, woman! I said, irritated that she was all over the place.

She raised her eyes to stare me in the face; I recognized her instantly, and I think she recognized me too… her eyes flew open even wider. She was the blonde from the party, the one Arabella had wanted to have take the fall for her, but she somehow managed to escape, and as I kept looking at her, I could see why. She was not a natural blonde; this was a bloody disguise!

Mr. Tanner! I am really sorry! I was distracted, s he squeal ed, any trace of her recognizing me from the other night’s party disappearing; all she was on about was the company. A nother face to send out.

    Not to worry… Don’t I know you?

She raised an inquisitive brow at me, then shook her head Not that I know of.

Hmmmm, okay, I said, then walked back into the hall without glancing back to check if she was watching me. I didn’t want her second-guessing me either, anyway. The night was getting more tension-filled, and I needed to see Arabella.

I sat down again, trying to concentrate, but something about the party didn’t sit right with me. O f course, my old man deserved all the pennies spent on the party, but I didn’t realize he
