I watched Craig closely as he answered the phone, sensing something was wrong again. He was so tense. Whatever he was thinking was making him angry. He had been carrying a brooding face around the house since Madison’s engagement party, and was not saying anything to me about it yet. I went to him, hugging him. When he ended the call, he turned to me, circling his arms around me as he held me. 

What is it this time?

"Nothing, my love, just some business with Lucas's partners that didn’t end as we hoped," he informed me casually.

But he’s new to the business. He will fly when he’s grown his wings strong enough. 

That’s by the way. You should eat. I’ll handle it. He walked away from me while calling the chef. I knew what he said wasn’t entirely true, but I didn’t want to force him to talk when he wasn’t ready yet.

"You just want to feed me fat, Craig!" I giggled, trying to ease the mood.

Yes! he replied, just as we heard a knock. The chef walked in, and we placed our orders.

Need anything added? the chef asked.

No, I nodded.

Okay, got it! The chef curtsied and left. 

Craig left me on the bed and was moving towards the wardrobe. You’re leaving? I asked, spurred on by his actions.
