Description

The plaintiff rented an apartment from the defendant, her landlord. She claims the defendant locked her out of her home one day and left all of her belongings outside, including her television and hair kit. She’s suing for damages. The defendant argues the plaintiff never paid rent and doesn’t know what happened to her belongings. She’s countersuing for unpaid rent, slander, and harassment.
Then, the plaintiffs, a father and daughter, hired the defendant to make the daughter’s prom dress. They say the back seam broke, which caused a huge hole. When she got to the prom, the front seam broke. The plaintiffs are suing for the cost of the dress. The defendant argues the daughter didn’t put on the dress until the day of the prom. He doesn’t understand why the plaintiffs are suing for double the cost of the dress.
Plus, the plaintiff let her son drive her car to drop off a friend at his house. He says the defendant ran into his car because she was speeding, and both cars got totaled. The plaintiff says the defendant refuses to pay for damages, so she’s suing. The defendant argues her cellphone slid off her dashboard and under her brake pad. She tried to reach for it while driving, then crashed into the plaintiff’s son. She says insurance already covered the damages.
