Description

The plaintiff says the defendant, his ex-girlfriend, stole his car. He says the defendant is hiding it and refuses to give it back or pay him what it’s worth. Now he’s suing her for the car. The defendant argues that the plaintiff didn’t want the car anymore, so she offered to take it off his hands. For him to turn around and sue her is pathetic. The defendant is countersuing for the money she says she spent on the plaintiff during their relationship.
The plaintiff says that after a house fire, she rented the defendant’s home. When she left, the defendant refused to return the security deposit, so now she’s suing the defendant for what she’s owed. The defendant argues that the plaintiff actually owes him money because she ruined his childhood home. The defendant is countersuing for damages.
The plaintiff says the defendant backed her car into his vehicle and refuses to pay up for the damages she caused. Now he’s suing her for the costs. The defendant claims she looked back before reversing, and out of nowhere, the plaintiff backed up. She thinks the collision was 100% the plaintiff’s fault, and she owes him nothing.

The honorable Judge Marilyn Milian presides over the four-time Emmy award winning "The People’s Court." For more than two decades, Milian has dispensed justice and provided legal insight in the courtroom where justice and reality collide. And now, you can take the show on the go with "The People’s Court Podcast." "The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian. Running the gamut from disputes between neighbors and family members, to dissatisfied customers suing businesses, Milian's decisions – based on current law – are final and binding. Joining Milian is multiple Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Harvey Levin, who serves as the series’ host and legal reporter. In the courtroom, Milian is joined by court officer Douglas McIntosh. Doug Llewelyn interviews litigants after a decision has been rendered in their cases.
