Introduction
Hello! Thanks for joining me. My name is Heather Deranja, and this is Retraining Your Brain For A Conscious Lifestyle: How to Take Control of Your Health and Thrive, a course from Scribd Coach.
No matter how old you are, your brain has been trained to block certain information. Lots of times, we latch on so tightly to one piece of information that we can’t comprehend anything else.
For instance, sometimes, when I’m reading a book, I’ll latch on to a belief or information that defies my belief. Although I keep reading the entire time, I’m stuck processing that one point over and over in my head. I’m forcing my brain to justify my belief by telling myself, This information just isn’t right.
That kind of thinking needs to be retrained so that we’re open to understanding what it takes to live a conscious lifestyle.
What do I mean by conscious lifestyle
? We’ll get to that soon.
First, though, I’d like to ask: What brings you here? Many of you likely feel there is an overall sense of something being off,
but you can’t quite put your finger on what, and nothing you do to fix it seems to work.
You may be suffering from anxiety or depression, chronic fatigue, constant stress, or any number of other symptoms. You may have even gone to the doctor, just to be told that it’s just part of the aging process.
Well, I’m here to call bull
on that. It’s not part of the aging process; in fact, you can reverse what you’re experiencing in order to feel vitality and longevity — which we all desperately desire to live our best lives.
Over the years, I’ve come to realize that my struggles with mental and physical health haven’t been a waste — rather, they happened for me so that I could find holistic practices to navigate myself to better health. It’s a reverse-engineering method that I’ve taken myself through, and I’m excited to be here delivering the information to you. I’ve applied the advice in this course to
