Introduction
Welcome! My name is Jennifer Bronsnick. I’m so happy that you’re here. I am so proud and amazed that you decided to take this first step into becoming the boss of your worry.
There’s a wealth of information on how to deal with anxiety. Maybe you’ve already encountered some coping mechanisms, but you haven’t found them useful. Hopefully, this course will offer you some new perspectives on and methods for handling anxiety. In the first unit, we’ll take a comprehensive look at anxiety — what it is and why we have it. In the next couple units, we’ll talk about how you can cope with anxiety using what I call the six essential cognitive patterns and other techniques. We’ll wrap up by discussing how to empower others to manage their own anxiety.
Using cognitive, breathing, and mindfulness techniques, we’ll learn how to deal with anxiety. We’ll also talk about some practical tips for becoming more resilient in the face of fear. That’s the overall goal of the course.
In case we don’t know each other, my name is Jennifer Bronsnick. I’m a licensed clinical social worker and a certified anxiety treatment professional. Not only have I been in this field for almost 20 years, but I myself have been living with anxiety since about age 2. I know exactly how hard it is to stand up to fear. I understand that desire to hide away, to be comfortable and stay snuggled up on the couch. But I also know that there is so much beauty, joy, and excitement in the world when we begin to show up for ourselves and say, Okay fear, get in the back seat. I’m sick of you bossing me around.
You are so important. You’re so special. The world needs you to show up, share your gifts, and be your authentic self without being held back and weighed down by the heavy energy of fear.
If you’re ready for evidence-based, effective techniques for managing anxiety, look no further. Let’s get started by diving into unit 1! I can’t wait to see you there.
