About this ebook

If you struggle to make decisions, or look around and think everyone else seems to have it figured out, you’re not alone — especially if you’re a millennial or twenty-something. You might be wondering where people are getting these fairy godmothers to solve their problems and make them successful.

Tess Brigham doesn’t have a magic wand… but she does know how to help with these feelings. In her Scribd Coach course Out with the Old, In with the You, clinical therapist and coach Brigham aims to help listeners quiet the voices in their own heads, distinguish their own voices, and then use that voice to navigate their lives. In the course, she addresses how to change your perceptions of anxiety and practice mindfulness to manage it, how to become aware of your limiting beliefs, and how to stick to your goals. She also shares exercise to help you put what you’ve learned into practice.

Out with the old, in with the you — let Tess Brigham’s course be your first step toward self-fulfillment.

    Introduction

Hello, thanks for joining me. I’m Tess Brigham, and this is Out With the Old, In With the You, a course from Scribd Coach.

So many people struggle with making decisions. They look around and feel like everyone else has it all figured out. It seems as if there is a guidebook to life that everyone else saw, that they feel like they have missed out on. They wish they had a fairy godmother to solve all their problems.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a magic wand, but I do know how to help you. I am a clinical therapist, and I provide coaching and life strategy to Millennials and 20-somethings. The most important skill you can develop is the ability to quiet all voices in your head so you can listen to and distinguish your own voice. It’s only when you can trust your own voice that you can really identify what you want, who you want to be with, and how you want to navigate your life.

Many of us learn early on that it’s easier to please the people around us by going along and agreeing with what they tell
