Introduction
Hello everyone! My name is Dr. Lisa Cortez. Welcome to Confidence in Crisis: How to Manage Anxiety and Maintain Your Confidence,
a course from Scribd Coach. Thank you for joining me.
How many times have you told your loved ones that you love them? Your answer is probably a thousand times. But how many times have you told yourself that you loved yourself? The answer is probably zero or maybe once or twice. You could even say that you don’t say it aloud, but you feel that love yourself regardless.
You could also say that you feel that you love yourself because you do a lot of things just for you. While that may be true, you also do things for your loved ones as well, right? Do you not still tell them you love them? Why do you think it’s important to tell your loved ones that you love them and not yourself?
That’s what we’re here to talk about in this course. We should always remind ourselves that we love ourselves, even in the middle of a crisis. If you tell yourself that you love yourself, you start believing it and you begin developing a self-confidence that cannot be easily torn down.
I grew up in a family where we didn’t say, I love you,
to one another, nor were taught how to love ourselves. When I started telling my parents that I loved them it was quite awkward. So, I make it a point to say it to my kids. The more you do it, the more it becomes part of you. Look at yourself in the mirror, and tell yourself I love you
.
It was important to me that my kids have this component growing up as it’s crucial to their budding confidence. I want to be sure they are prepared, even in a crisis, to get through it
