Hello everyone! I'm Matt Bodnar, and this is Overcoming Limiting Beliefs: How to Dispel the Narratives Holding Us Back,
a course from Scribd. Thank you for joining me.
So, who is Matt Bodnar? I'm an entrepreneur and investor in Nashville, Tennessee, and I'm obsessed with the mindset of success and the psychology of performance. I've read hundreds of books and spent countless hours researching and studying the human mind.
I'm going to take you on a journey to show you how limiting beliefs impact your life. We'll cover what they are, how they rule your reality, and how you can change them. This is some incredibly powerful stuff, so I want you to pay close attention to the information I'm going to share with you.
By the end of the course, you'll be able to recognize how these beliefs manifest in your everyday life and influence your thoughts and actions. You'll understand how the subconscious is only concerned with survival, and you have to consciously put in the work needed to see changes. I'll show you how to feed the subconscious, so it doesn't fight the change you want to make.
Not only will you identify negative thoughts when they pop up, but you'll also have tools and exercises to stop them before they ruin your motivation and take you off track. So if you're ready, let's get started.
Limiting Beliefs
Before we can discuss how to overcome limiting beliefs, let's define what they are. I find the best way to start is with the pyramid of behavior. There are usually four levels.
The first level is results, then one is below, and that is our actions. The next level is our thoughts, and the fourth level is our beliefs. Beliefs are at the base of the pyramid and what that means is that your beliefs impact your thoughts. Your thoughts lead to your actions, and the actions create the results we see in the world.
