Introduction
Hello! The Whole Body Entrepreneur: A Physical and Emotional Self-Care Bootcamp, a course from Scribd Coach. My name is Daryl Johnson. I'm excited to be here learning with you. This course will give you information and tools to establish and strengthen your self-care routine as you continue to become the best you.
To give you a little background info about myself, I am a psychologist and relationship therapist in Washington, DC. My private practice is called Dr. Daryl Johnson Consulting, and this is where I help my clients break through obstacles that hold them back. My specialty is in guiding singles and couples toward healthy relationships with others and with the most important one of all, themselves.
I attended Gettysburg College, where I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology and philosophy, then went on to Trinity Washington University to earn a master's degree in counseling. I also have a Ph.D. in psychology from North Central University.
So, what brings us together today? Well, within and outside my practice, I've found that the risk of burnout is real for many entrepreneurs. This isn't startling when you think about everything you have to do on a daily basis.
Entrepreneurs are constantly looking for ways to grow their businesses, but in doing so, your health tends to become a lower priority. I'll show you how to ditch old habits and set up new ones that'll keep you healthy.
At the end of the course, you'll be able to identify what's truly possible if you begin to nurture the whole you on the mental, physical, and spiritual levels. As we go through each unit, I'll show you how to build a sustainable self-care routine by discussing what burnout and stress look like and what you can do to diffuse them.
We know that coaches and service providers are naturally people pleasers, which often backfires and leads them to make poor business decisions. I'll give you the tools you need to set boundaries with yourself and others so you don't become an emotional wreck by taking on everyone else's problems.
