Introduction
Hi, and welcome to Be Calm, Be Confident: Breaking the Cycle of Negative Thoughts to Regain Emotional Freedom,
a course from Scribd. I’m Jo Cook — I’ll be walking you through this course on how to stay calm and in control in the face of challenging situations.
I’d like to begin by sharing three statements, and I want you to think about whether or not they sound familiar to you. Think about whether you identify with these statements or have identified with them at any point in the past few months:
First, despite your talents, skills, and knowledge, you struggle to feel good about yourself. That’s the first statement.
Next, you experience moments where anxiety creeps in, and you have, perhaps, an above average ability to mask any insecurities that you might be feeling in the moment. That’s number two.
And, finally, hiding anxiety takes energy and, at times, you begin to feel overwhelmed and exhausted because of it.
If any of those sounds familiar to you, or if all three do, you’re in the right place. And I’m sure that you’ll take something from this course if you identify with any of those statements to varying degrees. Maybe these are feelings that come up every now and then, or maybe you feel this way quite often, and it makes it difficult to get through the day. If you fall anywhere between those two points, then there’s something here for you. And I look forward to preparing you with the tools to overcome these feelings.
This course is designed to help teach you how to function and feel good when you’re experiencing
