About this ebook

Have you wondered if it is possible to kick depression out of your life without resorting to medication?

Most depression related medication can have a series of harmful side effects that sometimes leave patients in an even worse state than before.

Cognitive behavioral therapy has been one of the most successful methods of treating and eliminating depression, anxiety and negative thought patterns with little to virtually no side effects.

Here's some of what you can expect to learn inside the pages of this book:

-Discover exactly how to dismantle the most damaging automatic thoughts.

-How to develop a solid foundation of core beliefs so that external factors have little negative impact on the way you think.

-Learn how to take in situations with a more positive perspective and make it a long-term habit.

-How to avoid the most common CBT mistakes that can greatly hinder your progress towards recovery.

-Proven methods to relax your mind and body and disrupt stress and depression patterns.

Other than following the advice inside this guide, no previous skill or specific knowledge is required to get started with CBT.

There is a large amount of CBT practitioners that have learned how to harness emotions and thoughts to 'rewire' the way their mind works for good.

Unlike depression or anxiety medication, the CBT principles will reward you with long lasting results when correctly applied to your life.

There is no better time to start the journey towards a healthier mind and body. Start by practicing CBT today!

Well anxiety is my issue and since I am not very comfortable seeking a therapist I decided to look for self help books. This was very helpful. The first time I got stressed about something after reading it I found my self thinking absolutely it why instead of just taking the anxious feelings as a normal reaction and voilà I found the root of the issue so quickly. It will s true it is concise but it’s practical as to the point.

This book helps you to understand and take action when it comes to unwanted negative thoughts and feelings. I love the "Chapter Summary and Homework" sections because they turn each topic into steps you work on right away. A combination text and workbook, this "made simple" design is perfect for anyone looking for a guide as they strive to make positive changes and feel better. As a practicing psychologist, I'm going to use this book often and recommend it to my patients. So helpful to have a clear and concise roadmap for letting go of worries and improving your mood!

That helped me realize new perspectives to what's going on and what I can do. I suffer from medical anxiety horribly. Just a week before I got the book, I had my worst attack to date. Since I have finished the book, I haven't had an attack yet.im not 'cured', but I'm not suffering anymore either! I use the tools that were given to help me regulate. I want to hug the author and thank him!!

Excellent, finally a lean practical and to the point book on cbt I can use.

Catalogued automatic responses for example, brilliant.

I've looked at so many long winded books and they waffle on and on about what the therapy can do for you without getting straight to how you would practically do it. The other types are prescriptive workbooks that don't align usually to your own experiences, what we need are principles and the rest can be derived and customised for an individual by the individual.

Thank you, this book works for me.

Five stars because I was looking for something more practical than theoretical and this book delivered. Might not be the best book for someone who really wants to understand the theory behind cbt, but I was looking for practical things I could implement in my life and that's exactly what this book has to offer.

Practical, grounded in research, accessible. In my podcast interview with Author, it became clear he has a solid grasp of CBT. His book is full of exercises that don’t require a doctor’s help.

I love it! I have tried to get help multiple times in the past and have been unsuccessful in those attempts. These books are amazing if you are like me and don’t necessarily appeal to the idea of sitting and spilling your life story to someone across a desk. They are easy to read and easy to follow. Other CBT programs I have read about sounded almost childish in getting you to think about your thoughts and feelings and being mindful. But these help encourage you to get your life back into your own hands and take control. They are amazing!

I’m a therapist, and bought this as a refresher for the CBT modality. I appreciate that it reads kind of like a self help book, which makes it easier to translate for my clients. Easy to read and follow.

CBT - John Roberts

Introduction

This book contains proven steps and strategies on how to correctly apply the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in your life. Despite being a specialized approach that takes experienced individuals to administer, CBT can still be practiced on your own.

Interestingly, one of the main goals of CBT is to enable patients to become practitioners themselves. Over the long course, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy aims to train patients to diagnose, treat, and condition themselves to overcome the symptoms of their stress and depression.

Here, you will discover how CBT works and how to use it in your own personal setting. You will be covering a few techniques that many therapists and patients use to zero in on their psychological problems and how to get through them.

Please read this book from start to finish, as it is designed to introduce you to the method and walk you through the various techniques that embody the approach. Without working knowledge of the underlying principles at work, your results become hard to predict and achieve.

Another thing to note about the techniques here is that they are meant to be learned and mastered after a set time. The ultimate goal of CBT is to inspire complete independence from medication and therapy, turning the patient into an expert on themselves.

When achieved, you will no longer need this manual and its contents to deal with your anxiety and depression should you experience resurgence and relapses of your symptoms. On top of that, you will also be able to stand as a guide for those who are also seeking comfort and treatment.
