Reviews for Depression and Anxiety
10 ratings10 reviews
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This a great book for explaining what a depressed person should do after they take an antidepressant and are getting therapy. It explains your self-defeating habits and offers help.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a very thorough, compassionate, unflinching look at the challenges faced by depressive people. Insightful and intelligent, motivating and hope-inducing... absolutely worth reading if you or a loved one struggle with ongoing depression.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book contained so many insights into how to treat depression and to overcome depression. This was the Best Book I ever Read I highly recommend it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the best book I have ever read on Depression. Anyone dealing with this disease or has a person of their concern with depression needs to read this. It contains two chapters on recovery which is rarely associated with mental illness that is worth re-reading over and over again. My first recommended book for anyone with depression
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Incredibly helpful book that gives people with depression the help they need to understand their disease and the tools to make a recovery that is not just a temporary fix. Great for people who are in relationships with depressives (parents, significant others, ect) for understanding why a depressive may act the way they do.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book really helps. It contains lots of real information that you can immediately use, and it is presented clearly and simply -- easy to access. These things are crucial when you are depressed and trying to find help. I am highly educated and a writer, but in a recent too-long episode of deep clinical depression, I found it hard even to read at all. And this book really gave me some help. So I highly recommend it. If you're depressed yourself, just read one page at a time. If you're reading it for someone else, it will really give you things you can use. Well done.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I think this book is written more for clinicians. I don't personally like it myself but I do love his book "Rewire." "Rewire" is fantastic and highly motivating. Also offers better explanations to why we do things unconsciously and how we may best change that to live better lives. You may like this book, it just wasn't one I liked personally.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Undoing Depression is written in a sympathetic, compassionate, nonjudgmental manner and offers practical self-help for those of us suffering from depression. This book has been a great aid to me and I highly recommend it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A comprehensive explanation for not only people who suffer from depression, but an eye opening book for those whose loved ones are affected by this illness.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I thought it was well written and extremely encouraging, especially because I was in a very delicate mental state when I finally picked it up. Focuses on changing the thought patterns that reinforce depression and learning how to be kinder to yourself. I really loved it. I am also significantly less depressed than I was when I first picked up the book, and while other factors were involved, I do think the book helped a great deal.
