About this ebook
Many patients suffer from anxiety disorders and depression at the same time. Frequently, vague, undifferentiated diagnoses such as 'mixed anxiety and depression' or 'adjustment disorder' are used. Accordingly, the therapeutic procedure is also poorly differentiated. The aim of the book is to facilitate the precise diagnostic assessment and targeted treatment of anxiety disorders and depression.
For this purpose, the manifestation, the differential diagnosis and the cognitive-behavioral treatment of all seven anxiety disorders including unipolar depression are presented. The interweaving of anxiety and depression in their respective nuances and interactions can thus be diagnosed more precisely. Interstitial therapeutic building blocks such as confrontation, cognitive therapy and health behavior, which lead to therapeutic success in almost all disorders, are explained in detail and supplemented by disorder-specific procedures. Since the therapist-patient relationship has emerged in many studies as a particularly important, if not the most important, therapeutic variable, current findings are also presented.
In this book we will provide you with everything you need to know about cognitive behavioral therapy and the reasons why it has been considered one of the most effective treatments for certain emotional disorders. We will go through the basics and essentials of the beginner to understand before they can begin their treatments, as well as the various benefits of having them. Included are the various issues it is known to handle effectively, and the philosophy behind it.
Apart from that, we also offer introductions to the different techniques used in CBT. Many of these techniques are designed to address very specific problems, and that is one of the great benefits of CBT. It offers very focused treatments and sets concrete goals for the therapist and their clients to achieve. We immerse ourselves in the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behavior-how all three influence each other and how small changes can result in significant positive outcomes in our lives.
As you go through the book you will understand the process better and why CBT is the most proven method for successfully treating mental suffering.

INTRODUCTION
It is currently widely accepted that providing an adequate knowledge of a disease facilitates the person suffering from its recovery, especially in the case of psychological disorders. For this reason, health education is being considered good practice clinic and is becoming increasingly relevant in health services.
One of the main proposals of the second edition of the Process Integrated Welfare Anxiety, Depression, and Somatizations consists in granting protagonism to those interventions that are centered on the patient, oriented to enhance their resources to overcome minor processes and brief and thus avoid inadequate medicalization. Among the alternatives to boarding Non-pharmacological is the use of self-help material. It's about an intervention method that goes back to the origin of the psychotherapies themselves.
As an example of this, in 1926, Geraldine Coster publishes the book: Psychoanalysis for healthy people.
In him it was tried to approach the psychodynamic theory of Freud to the general population, summarizing it in tips and suggestions to make it more affordable
Also, in 2011, doctors from the Mental Health Clinical Management Unit Regional Hospital of Malaga and the Health District of Malaga developed the Clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of depression in Primary Care.
During the process, the developer group detected the need to arrange a complementary self-help material to facilitate the approach of the Depressive and anxiety disorders in Primary Care. In this way, come the self-help guides that are presented here together, whose content is based on a form of therapy called cognitive-behavioral, the modality of psychotherapy that, according to scientific evidence, has demonstrated be more effective in the treatment of this type of pathologies.

They can also be useful for healthy people who want improve some skills of your daily life, promoting growth and personal maturation Health professionals would be facilitators of the material and would provide support, in this case, the action would go beyond the simple transmission of information. These guides can be considered as single interventions or as a complement to the treatment facilitated by a therapist.
The most important goal of these guides is for the reader to become an agent active in his recovery process, directing and starring the actions that scientific research recommends for disorders mild mental. For this, the content of the guides provides the information necessary for the person to understand what is happening to them, in clear language and without technicalities, and introduces the techniques needed for the proper handling of the main depressive and anxious symptoms.
CHAPTER 1
WHAT IS DEPRESSION?
What is depression ?
Lately, I feel sad, and I do not feel like doing anything. I start crying for anything, and everything feels terrible. I do not comment on my worries because I think that no one can understand what is happening to me, and that makes me feel very alone, even if surrounded by people. I consider myself a very cheerful person, but I have had many negative thoughts for a long time, about myself and my future.
I feel distracted; my memory fails me; I have many misconceptions. Do not I remember simple details like where I left the car keys or the list of the purchase. I have a hard time concentrating on work, and I have a feeling of permanent fatigue. In the morning I find it hard to get out of bed, the day It makes me very long, and I have difficulty relating to others, even with my wife
.
I have a terrible run; I see everything black and no way out. I have the spirit shallow and self-esteem through the floors. I do not know a solution to my situation. Since I retired, I stopped going out with friends and doing the things that they liked. It's as if my life has no meaning. I do not go to the country on Sundays anymore with the family, nor do I see football in the bar with friends. I have no plans for the future no projects that excite me. I've even thought that life no longer makes sense for me and that I would not mind dying.
What is depression?
The fact of feeling sad, depressed,
of having negative thoughts
or difficulty sleeping does not necessarily mean that you suffer depression. The moments of sadness, doubt, or questioning are part of life. Throughout life and about the events that are going on happening, people experience a wide range of feelings, from the saddest to the most optimistic.
Within this variety of emotions, sadness, discouragement, and despair They are everyday human experiences. These decreases in the mood they should not be confused with those experienced by a depressed person. Depression is a disease, as is diabetes or an ulcer stomach. To speak of depression, and therefore of illness, it is required:
• that these feelings present themselves (almost) continuously during a period greater than two weeks;
• that cause significant discomfort in one or several areas of daily life (difficulty or inability to get up, go to
