Gabriel spent several years working in local restaurants in Madison, Wisconsin while attending college there, falling in love with the restaurant industry, and meeting many of the people who would later become part of his Happy Cooking family in NYC. He has built a reputation for opening lively, neighborhood restaurants, largely in the West Village that make people happy. Among many accolades, Gabriel was named “Restaurateur of the Year” in 2012 by Esquire magazine. Today's show also features Shari's PR tip, Speed Round, Industry News discussion, and Solo Dining experience at new, wood-fired Korean restaurant, Jua in NYC's Flatiron District.
