One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”Prayer is a conversation with God and it may seem that since Jesus is God, there'd be no reason for Him to pray. But all throughout the Gospels, we see him talking to the Father and He shows us that oneness is about constant communication. Scripture says to pray without ceasing and to have a lifestyle of prayer. Jesus demonstrates that when the disciples see Jesus talking to the Father and they see something beautiful and desirable that they want it for themselves. They say, "teach us how to do that." So if you feel awkward about prayer, the good news is it's a skill you can learn. Jesus teaches us how to do it and He wants us to have relational intimacy with the father because he is where the joy is!
