Description
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33) Jesus has spent the past few verses telling His followers that they shouldn't be anxious and why they shouldn't be anxious. He doesn't just say, "you guys are awesome. You can achieve whatever you set out to do. Just manifest that pay raise. Put it on your vision board." Instead, He says focus less on these things, not more. He says to focus on God's kingdom; on the eternal things. If we keep chasing temporary things, we'll always want more and that creates anxiety as we watch life slip through our fingers. But if you fill your mind and your days with things that have eternal value, your heart will be at peace. God can be trusted to handle the big deals and the details. His nearness is all our hearts need for rest because He is where the joy is
