Description
"And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea." (Mark 6:47-48)After multiplying five loaves and two fish to feed roughly 15000 people, Jesus sent His disciples across the Sea of Galilee to the Gentile side. The Jews generally regard Gentiles as dirty because they don't keep God's cleanliness laws, yet Jesus tells His disciples to go there on purpose. Meanwhile, He's praying on a mountainside, so not only are his disciples going into enemy territory but now there's a storm coming and their leader isn't there with them. Except he is there! He sees and He acts on their behalf and He's with you even in the middle of the night when fears are mounting. He's there and He's where the joy is!
