Description
"Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed," (Mark 6:51)Within the past few hours leading up to this verse, the disciples have seen Jesus demonstrate His power over creation through multiplying food and walking on water. They've seen Him demonstrate His compassion for people by teaching the wayward crowd and feeding them when they were hungry and then rescuing the disciples out of a storm. In this story, we see His power and His kindness. But if Jesus has power over creation, why would He allow the storm? I don't know, but I do know that the disciples learned something about Him that outlasted the storm and the day's exhaustion. They learned something they'd need to carry with him through all the days ahead. They learned that God is powerful, God is kind, and He is where the joy is!
