Description

"and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand." (Mark 6:43-44) Jesus just fed a crow dinner through his miraculous multiplication of food and then we find out exactly how big this crowd is. There are 5000 men, which means there are likely around 15000 people total. That's almost the capacity of the Hollywood Bowl. In the Book of John, we find out that the five loaves and two fish came from a boy in the crowd. The boy didn't have enough to feed those people. He didn't! But God used what the boy offered and God made it enough. The Bible never tells us that we are enough. In fact, it repeatedly tells us that we aren't. But He is! He generously uses the little that we have in ways we could never imagine because He is enough and He is where the joy is.
