"Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" Matthew 6:27 We're in the middle of the Sermon on the Mount and Jesus has been telling his followers that they don't need to be filled with anxiety. This is a common theme throughout all of scripture. In fact, three hundred and sixty-six times in God's word, He tells his kids not to be afraid. That's one for every day of the year including leap year! Did you know God never gives that counsel to his enemies? He only gives it to his kids. Why? Because fathers provide for their own children. He is providing for you today in whatever area you're anxious. Remember that you're loving, wise, sovereign Father knows every need and every ache. He has no uncertainty about your future. He knows the exact span of your life and how much provisional need to carry you. There He is with you, He is for you, and He is where the joy is!
