Description
"There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light." (John 1:6-8)This section of the book, John, is talking about who Jesus is. But here, the author segues ways into telling us about someone else, John the Baptist. He was born not long before Jesus and He spent His life telling everyone that the Messiah had come. His whole purpose in life was to point to Jesus. While you and I might spend our days wondering what people think of us, John the Baptist was primarily concerned with what people thought of Jesus. Did they know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life? Did they see Him as the light of the world? John the Baptist wanted everyone to know and believe in Jesus because he knew that He is where the joy is!
