Description
"David said about him: "'I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." (Acts 2:25)These words are from a sermon Peter is preaching to the locals of Jerusalem who had crucified Jesus just seven weeks earlier. Before He was resurrected and after He ascended to Heaven 40 days later, the Apostles were left to explain His message to the locals. In order to do that, Peter quotes David. The locals would be familiar with all of David's words because it's part of their Scriptures and this is from a song they sing. So here, Peter is making the connection that Jesus is the Messiah, the God who David wrote about a thousand years earlier. David testified about Jesus long before Jesus was born. He's the reason David wasn't shaken and He's the reason we aren't shaken. He is where the joy is!
