"In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind." (John 1:4)This section in the book of John is talking to us about who Jesus is. It says He is God and it credits Him with making the world. Later in the book in Chapter 14, Jesus himself says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Jesus isn't just a way, He's THE way. He's not just a truth, He's THE truth. He's the only way that you and I can access the eternal life God offers us. Eternal life comes through him. The world will try to offer you a thousand ways to empower yourself and fix yourself and most of them feel like burdens, don't they? They require you to fix and heal yourself, but Jesus is the one who has accomplished all. We can't. He brings life and He turns the light on. He makes our burden light. He is where the life is and He's where the joy is!
