Description
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)In this section of Scripture, the Apostle Paul is writing a letter to the Christians in Rome. Rome was a wealthy, decadent city. It was also the center of government and the people there worship to a lot of false gods, including the Roman Emperor. Since Christians refused to worship the Emperor, they experienced severe persecution from imprisonment to being burned alive. So Paul wrote words of encouragement to them, reminding them that God is at work, even in these trials, to bless His kids. This is a promise that extends not to all people, but to all followers of Christ, to those who love God, the ones God has called to Himself. So no matter whether your day is filled with the good, the bad or the ugly, God will use it for His glory and your joy. After all, He is where the joy is!
