About this audiobook

What seems like surrender may not be surrender at all…

A Windy City Kink Book

Paige Nelson has an amazing new life in a new city with her own business and new friends, her abusive ex-husband firmly in her past. Plans to expand her business are running into a few roadblocks, but she doesn’t need a man to help her. She can do this on her own.

From the minute he lays eyes on Paige, prominent developer Raff Lauden wants her. Intensely. Urgently. Though petite and delicate usually isn’t his type, he finds himself asking her out. Even more surprising? She says no.

Paige has a history of being attracted to dominant, controlling men. The kind she swore never to get involved with again. But maybe she’s trying to resist the one man who can give her everything she’s ever really wanted…

Warning: This book contains a feisty little blonde who likes to play with fire and a big wounded hero who won’t let her get burned.

Editor's Note

Battle for Dominance...

“Playing Dirty,” a book in Jamieson’s “Windy City Kink” series, has two strong-willed people battling each other for dominance, but of course only one can win. A newly divorced woman thinks she has it all — so she says no when a handsome, successful businessman asks her out. But he is determined to get her to change her mind, and she can’t seem to help but be attracted to him — and his bossiness — leading them into some kinky situations.

    Didn't get past chapter 1...
Love this author's storytelling and have every intention to read this book, but the audio was very hard to listen to, which is a shame since I loved Sweet Obsession and Messed Up.

Could not get past chapter 9. The narrator is horrible. So....dry ( besides robotic). Later edit: I finished, but hardly. The narrator is not good

The story seemed great but yikes are we sure this was narrated by a person. Sounds more like a siri or google type voice. Very hard to listen to.

Narrator butchered this story and should start her career with short stories until she gets the hang of it. This story could have been a decent story, but the narrator was monotone and extremely choppy - pausing at every comma, period and sometimes what seemed to be at the end of a row. The author, or whomever is in charge of coupling narrators with stories, should have stopped the recording right from the first chapter. Too bad.

Sadly, the narrator kinda ruined the story. Considering Anna Fox did the prior book and she is amazing at her job, this should've been read by her instead.

On that note, as always, Author is great.

A lot of focus on the MC’s past abusive relationship, which bored me to death. And the narrator speaks like a robot. So: enjoy those robot sex scenes lol

I didn't like the narration. Sounded very computerized and made listening to it less enjoyable

I was excited to finish this series as I’d heard that the third book was the best. But the narrator made it impossible to listen to for more than a few minutes. It was like listening to a GPS narrate a book. I may try to read this in book format in the future but more than likely not.

I agree with all of the other reviews. The narrator was awful, the story was great.

I’m sure the book is good but I couldn’t even get into the first chapter listening to the voices that read this story. Ugh!

Two minutes into this and I had to stop. The narrator's voice sounded automated. Sad too because I really enjoyed listening to the books before this one. They changed the narrator.

The narrator must be a computer generated voice . It’s so terrible

This is the 3rd book of the Wistful City series, and personally I preferred the 2nd book more. I don't find any form of pain sexy at all, but to each their own on the kink department. Also, I found the narration a bit tin-ny, almost robotic. She could read the characters very well, but in between, the story sounded very flat.

Story is good but narration could use some work. Very clunky.

Story would be good but the narrator is horrible. Sounds like it is a computer reading the book and I stopped listening after a couple of chapter as there is no intonations or emotions in the voice and makes it super boring
