About this audiobook

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo; now with a bonus conversation with Julia Whelan and Taylor Jenkins Reid, recorded exclusively for this edition.

At the age of twenty-nine, Hannah Martin still has no idea what she wants to do with her life. She has lived in six different cities and held countless meaningless jobs since graduating college. On the heels of leaving yet another city, Hannah moves back to her hometown of Los Angeles and takes up residence in her best friend Gabby’s guestroom. Shortly after getting back to town, Hannah goes out to a bar one night with Gabby and meets up with her high school boyfriend, Ethan.

Just after midnight, Gabby asks Hannah if she’s ready to go. A moment later, Ethan offers to give her a ride later if she wants to stay. Hannah hesitates. What happens if she leaves with Gabby? What happens if she leaves with Ethan?

In concurrent storylines, Hannah lives out the effects of each decision. Quickly, these parallel universes develop into radically different stories with large-scale consequences for Hannah, as well as the people around her. As the two alternate realities run their course, Maybe in Another Life raises questions about fate and true love: Is anything meant to be? How much in our life is determined by chance? And perhaps, most compellingly: Is there such a thing as a soul mate?

Hannah believes there is. And, in both worlds, she believes she’s found him.

The author did a great job in addressing getting through many crises. I would highly recommend this book for anyone needing to work through and get over disappointments.

Don't bother! Repetitive story and bland. The male voice is terrible. All the males sound the same

My new favorite book of all time. So life affirming.

Schmaltzy but endured the repetitive dialog ( how many ways & times can characters repeat how much they love each other?) to get to the end. The concept of various lives with many potential possibilities for happiness was a good idea, but the author’s vehicle for illustrating this was so amateurish. How can the same author who wrote Daisy Jones, Evelyn Hugo, etc…. written this?? To me this is a YA book, primarily for teen girls. Urg.

I liked the book overall, but like her others better. It’s a hard one to follow
on audio, so I probably would have appreciated the written format more.

I love the dual story line, it was interesting and captivating. The repetition in both realities was less interesting.

I really liked the concept of this book with having two side by side stories. Another great TJR read.

I really liked this book, but I felt like the end was just soooooo rushed! The jump ahead 3 years left so much to be desired!

Kinda boring, after reading all her books , I would definitely say her best book is “the 7 dresses of Evelyn Hugo.”

Super well written book! The parallel universe idea ties all together at the end with a nice bow on top. I loved it!

So good, made me feel every emotion possible. Can’t wait to read more from the writer!

Repetitive. Boring and passive main character who is only defined by external things. The romances in each storyline aren't different enough to justify two storylines.

This book really touched me. I find myself asking the same question about an accident I was in that threw my life on a different course then one I would have stayed on. I thought of the movie Sliding Doors while reading. Excellent writing, I can’t wait Taylor’s next book!

I want to love this book! I just can’t handle the voices of the characters. They are truly cringe worthy. I can’t make it through the first chapter. I will try the print version of the book instead.

I’m only leaving a review because I appreciate when I’m forewarned about the character portrayal in other audiobook titles and wish I had been spared this one.

The writing is fine. My sole issue is the reader. I’m sure it’s a great book!

I liked both storylines, but I didn’t enjoy not just having one (if that makes any sense)
