About this audiobook

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo comes an all-new audio production read by Julia Whelan, including a bonus conversation with Julia Whelan and Taylor Jenkins Reid, recorded exclusively for this edition.

“Have you ever heard of supernovas? They shine brighter than anything else in the sky and then fade out really quickly, a short burst of extraordinary energy. I like to think you and Ben were like that . . . in that short time, you had more passion than some people have in a lifetime.”

Elsie Porter is an average twentysomething and yet what happens to her is anything but ordinary. On a rainy New Year’s Day, she heads out to pick up a pizza for one. She isn’t expecting to see anyone else in the shop, much less the adorable and charming Ben Ross. Their chemistry is instant and electric. Ben cannot even wait twenty-four hours before asking to see her again. Within weeks, the two are head over heels in love. By May, they’ve eloped.

Only nine days later, Ben is out riding his bike when he is hit by a truck and killed on impact. Elsie hears the sirens outside her apartment, but by the time she gets downstairs, he has already been whisked off to the emergency room. At the hospital, she must face Susan, the mother-in-law she has never met—and who doesn’t even know Elsie exists.

Interweaving Elsie and Ben’s charmed romance with Elsie and Susan’s healing process, Forever, Interrupted will remind you that there’s more than one way to find a happy ending.

**SPOILERS** My first 1 star of the year. The main character was the most insufferable, selfish (and hypocritical *ahem* Ana’s new boyfriend) protagonist I’ve seen in a while to the point It was hard to even feel any sympathy for her. So many cringy and forced moments..

-when Ana tells Elsie that she had a connection on her date with Kevin - Elsie rages because “connections on first dates were only her and bens thing”??

-on the way to elope Ben tells her he wants his mom to know first and Elsie’s first thought is literally “just like that my promising life was over and flys into a rage and tells him that if he needs to tell anyone he must not love her because “she doesn’t need to tell anyone”WHAT??

That’s just off the top of my head. The premises was promising and could have been a heartbreaking novel about grief but the execution in my opinion was botched by the inner dialogue. I would have never guessed this was a TJR book as all her others are excellent

I couldn’t finish it. I got halfway through part 2 before I put it down. I absolutely love this author, but the book just bummed me out. I kept waiting for it to get better before I finally just gave up.

Please don’t let this book shy you away from her others. She’s a fantastic author and the narrator is excellent.

This was a different insight into grief for me personally. However, without spoiling anything I felt that the best friend character, Ana, deserved so much better than what shook out.

This book is a release of her first novel. Having read her other work, and being impressed by the depth and intricacy of character development, this book left me wanting. While it’s pretty clear what the author is trying to do by mining the stages of grief, it’s heavy and dark. For me, not a well rounded read. A starter novel for the author. Actually interesting to see how her style and skill has developed over time.

Unexpected and so insightful. Moves beyond just your typical romance novel to explore how we are shaped by the relationships in our life and how new love affects those relationships. Wonderful characters that you root for. My first book by this author, but certainly not my last.
