Just a drink
Daisy fiddled with her earrings. Too dangly? She wanted to look nice, but not like she’d made too much effort. Luckily, she’d had her hair highlighted last week, so there were no grey roots showing, and the floaty leopard print dress with a leather jacket looked trendy without being try-hard. She went downstairs, wiping her clammy hands on her skirt. In the living room, her daughter, Tilda, was watching Netflix on the television, YouTube on her laptop, and TikTok on her phone. She looked up as her mother came in. Quaking, Daisy endured the beady eye of a 15-year-old.
‘Sexy.’
Daisy blushed to her newly done roots. ‘Stop it! I don’t want to look sexy. Just… approachable.’
