- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If you love books, history of books…and the power or story…with added quirkiness. This book is for you
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It is a fairytale too sappy for my taste. I had to fast forward to the end.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Unknown gem picked for me. Story was okay and has the usual debut fault of being too predictable and overly complicated.
Perfect if you want a palate cleanser. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Investigation, mystery and magic with a historical background, giving a voice to women. I loved it and will forever squint my eyes in old bookstores that I might glimpse the past.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow. That was quite a mysterious ride.
About the middle of the book, it was disturbing … bothered my sleep.
But I finished listening today and I am completely enchanted by the story. The readers were excellent!

A truly captivating read/listen I also enjoyed that in listening every main character had he’s/her own voice. I will happily listen again and probably buy the book for the shelf.

Love, love, love!!!!
Found it hard to continue sometimes but so rewarding!!! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A beautiful and poignant fairy tale of a dual timeline story. Loved it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The narrators of this audiobook earn 5 stars! The 3 1/2 stars writing begs for editing.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A magical, beautifully told tale of the strength and endurance of our foremothers and finding the courage from them to write our own story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A cozy book to cuddle up with on a cold day. It has romance, it has mystery, it has magic...everything you want during the time coming up to Christmas.
I loved that you can see the different POV's of the characters, as well as the dual timeline, which gives the reader perfect understanding of the whole story and the decisions the characters make. The characters themselves were really lovable, well, except for Opaline's brother. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is not “charming.“ It is very well-written, but features two stories about women in different timelines experiencing horrific abuse by men. The uplifting ending didn’t make it any easier listening to the bulk of the story. If that doesn’t put you off, then five stars is a fair rating but I found it painful to listen to and feel like I’m being generous giving it four stars.
