About this audiobook
Knives Out and Clue meet Agatha Christie and The Thursday Murder Club in this “utterly original” (Jane Harper), “not to be missed” (Karin Slaughter), fiendishly clever blend of classic and modern murder mystery.
“A witty twist on classic whodunits… Stevenson not only 'plays fair,' he plays the mystery game very, very well.” -- Maureen Corrigan, Washington Post
Everyone in my family has killed someone. Some of us, the high achievers, have killed more than once. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but it is the truth. Some of us are good, others are bad, and some just unfortunate.
I’m Ernest Cunningham. Call me Ern or Ernie. I wish I’d killed whoever decided our family reunion should be at a ski resort, but it’s a little more complicated than that.
Have I killed someone? Yes. I have.
Who was it?
Let’s get started.
EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY HAS KILLED SOMEONE
My brother
My stepsister
My wife
My father
My mother
My sister-in-law
My uncle
My stepfather
My aunt
Me
Editor's Note
Play on cozy whodunnits…
With a title like “Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone” (also the novel’s opening line), it’s no surprise that Stevenson’s latest is delightfully cheeky and intriguing. A self-referential play on cozy whodunnits, it follows Ernie Cunningham and his untrustworthy family, all reuniting at a remote ski resort. The first body drops quickly, and the plot develops via Ernie’s detective work. HBO has already acquired the rights to this entertaining mystery, making it a must-read before the series premieres.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was such an entertaining listening! Perfect for long car rides. The characters and the way the author delivers the story with with & personality quickly got me sucked into the story. Definitely looking forward to more from this author.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed this book. It was very well written and had me laughing at some points. Very unique. I don't think I have seen another book written like this. The main character was also very likable. The only thing I can say I didn't like was when the author would speak to the reader in some parts, which took me away from the story. In the middle of a high tension moment and the author would interprupt it. I liked this most of the time, tho. 4/5

The writing is creative and intelligent and the narrator did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. I wish I could listen to the audiobook for the first time again. I have been going on and on about this book and recommending it to anyone I talk to, ever since I finished it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The narrator did a fabulous job of bringing this wild and woolly story to life. So many twists and turns. Smartly written and great fun.

If you are a lover of Christie’s novels and other classic whodunnits, you will have the most fun reading this. IMHO
Darkly funny
Predictably unpredictable turns and reveal
Mostly plot, with some heartfelt moments
Looking forward to the sequel! - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Check your TW’s. But this was a fun murder mystery. I had made a right guess, but it definitely did not play out how I thought it would.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The narrator was great, the story was gripping and this author is definitely added to my Must Read list. Check this out if you have any love for mystery, who-dun-it or thriller novels. Or if you want to hear some great Australian fiction!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5With this description: “Knives Out and Clue meet Agatha Christie and The Thursday Murder Club….” All of my favorite things I’ve been longing to read this book!
But, I was also weary because of all that hype and expectation.
Thankfully I loved it!
Such a fun romp through many a murder mystery trope. With lots of rules, clues, dark humor and so much information to keep track of it made my head spin.
But, that is my favorite kind of mystery. One that pelts the reader with snowball after snowball of information, that will make sense by the end. And the proper gasp at the end, that I really should have seen that coming. Bravo to the narrator, very well done! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It's funny and lighthearted despite all the death and sadness. A great mystery that breaks the third wall and keeps you on your toes.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great suspense novel. Read like a 1950s crime story. Unexpected and we’ll put together.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really good job on this book I enjoyed it very much.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a really good book. It was 4.5 stars. It was clever and very funny. It would have been 5 stars but there were a few moments were it was trying just a bit too hard for the funny sarcastic and clever bit. A little overdone.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Mystery and humor a great combination. Never a dull moment.
