- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Only complains- the reader’s older male voice is very uncomfortable to listen to.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed this book and the characters. And I didn't have a problem with the narrator at all. So many well written characters that I could relate to. I love how they found community with each other even though they were all so different.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It is a sweet and heartwarming story about friendship, love and loss.
It talks about different kinds of relationships, types of communication and the interpersonal issues that people may encounter with each other.
It was heart lifting and thoroughly enjoyable. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If all book clubs are like this, no one would ever feel left alone ?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Oh my goodness. This book was awesome. It was so silly, sweet & sad. It had everything! I love these characters & wish the book were a series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I was a little slow to warm up to the premise and characters but as it developed I thoroughly enjoyed the depth of characters and truly FELT for them. The ending was magnificent.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I live Arthur the grouch. I loved all of the literary references old and contemporary. It’s a great listen!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I almost didn’t start this because the title brought an image of a sad, pitiful group. Instead, the characters had depth and the story was engaging.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is an amazing story. Lucy Gilmore creates memorable characters who seem to live and breathe. The plot is perfectly paced and beautifully crafted. The narrator does an excellent job of using different voices that perfectly go with each character. This book kept me laughing, and I thoroughly enjoyed the literary allusions. Please ignore the comments from a couple of readers that the narrator didn't use a good voice for the older character. The narrated book is a treat to enjoy.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Entertaining and well written. The choice to use a different narrator for each section was unusual, and took some getting used to. I thought the narrator did an excellent job juggling multiple voices. The ending was a little abrupt for my taste.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The story was refreshingly original. I liked the shifts between narrators in some ways, but other times found it a bit frustrating. It’s a good beach read and a nice palette cleanser between romance novels. I did really like the ending, and am planning on taking a page out of the author’s book (pun intended) for a gift idea from that ending. Overall, I enjoyed it :)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A book about books and lonely people what could be better for people who love books!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I think it was a very good book. I loved all the characters. I loved how they cared about each other. I love the grumpy old man how honest how they were with each other.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Delightful story with loads of little part stories, I really enjoyed this Audio Book.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The story itself was okay, and would have been a three, but the reader is the wrong choice for this book. Not nearly enough range to carry the characters. Sloane and Lincoln have identical voices, and that’s only one of the issues.
