About this audiobook
Two moms as opposite as a Happy Meal and a quinoa bowl. What a difference a week makes in a heartfelt, laugh-out-loud novel by the Washington Post bestselling author of The Overdue Life of Amy Byler.
Celeste Mason is the Pinterest stay-at-home supermom of other mothers’ nightmares. Despite her all-organic, SunButter-loving, free-range kids, her immaculate home, and her volunteering awards, she still has time to relax with a nice glass of pinot at the end of the day. The only thing that ruins it all is her workaholic, career-obsessed neighbor, who makes no secret of what she thinks of Celeste’s life choices every chance she gets.
Wendy Charles is a celebrated productivity consultant, columnist, and speaker. On a minute-by-minute schedule, she makes the working-mom hustle look easy. She even spends at least one waking hour a day with her kids. She’s not apologizing for a thing. Especially to Celeste, who plays her superior parenting against Wendy whenever she can.
Who do Celeste and Wendy think they are? They’re about to find out thanks to one freaky week. After a neighborhood potluck and too much sangria, they wake up—um, what?—in each other’s bodies. Everything Celeste and Wendy thought they knew about the “other kind of mom” is flipped upside down—along with their messy, complicated, maybe not so different lives.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A real delight. This is a sweet story of two very different women who swap bodies for a week and what they each learned about their lives. There is a lot of truth to the story aside from the body swap. Women always think the grass is greener on the other side.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5To all the moms out there, working moms or stay at home homes, have you ever been envious of the other?
This book is a version of Freaky Friday where the Moms get swapped for a week. One was a proud stay at home mom and the other a Business women. Each in their own way thinking they were raising their kids in the best way they knew how. They pinned a lot of topics proclaiming why their chosen paths were the best way, however, deep down they wondered if they were doing right by their kids.
It was such a charming, endearing read and it’s a perfect book for all Moms, who wonder if there choices in life will affect how their kids function.
In the book, they realize that both working and SAHM, both loved their children and was able to be the best mom possible.
I completely related to this book because I have been both and for a fact I can tell you both roles are hard. Being a mom is hard work, no matter if you are home all day with them or you work outside the home. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A freaky Friday premise the tackles the mommy wars, this one felt stereotypical and cheesy at first. But just like the women in the book, I slowly found more layers to the characters as the story went on. I cared about what happened to them, though the story felt predictable. It was an entertaining read that leaned a little towards the preachy, but not too far.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A redo of Freaky Friday; two women in different situations switch bodies after consuming Sangria at a school function. Wendy is a working Mother with a lazy loaf of a husband and three children. Wendy needs be productiive 24/7 because she has a consulting firm and no help at home. Celeste is the perfect at-home Mother who sews her own clothes, cooks, bakes, organizes her perfectly clean home, and drives all the other neighbor kids to practices and sports.During the switch, both women come to understand what makes the other tick. A fantasy but a fun reads.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Celeste and Wendy are two sides of the great mommy divide - working mom and stay at home mom. They each have healthy amounts of disdain and insecurity for each other. And then they switch lives, literally. Inevitably they gain empathy for the other and new found honesty about themselves - but how they get there is worth the read and the laughs.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sweet story. Good lessons. Beach read
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a laugh out loud novel about the contrasts between working moms and stay at homes moms and the animosity that often exists between them. Celeste and Wendy live in an upscale community. The only connection between them is their daughters are best friends. Celeste is a stay at home mom who cooks every day, makes sure her family eats healthy, keeps screen time to a minimum for the kids and is just an all around earth mother kind of woman. She is new to the community and trying to fit in but there is no love lost between her and Wendy. Wendy owns her own company and it takes up more hours than there are in a day. Her kids often get take out for dinner and even though she tries to be there for them, she often misses out. They each prefer their style of living and look down on the life style of the other. Celeste thinks that Wendy doesn't spend enough time with her kids and Wendy thinks that Celeste doesn't do much since she stays at home. This animosity takes a rapid shift when they wake up one morning in the other woman's body. The following days are filled with a struggle to fill the different role and finding out what really goes on behind closed doors. This story will make you laugh and maybe shed a few tears and it's a fantastic story that proves that you shouldn't judge someone until you walk in their shoes! This is going to be a definite summer hit!
