About this audiobook

THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!

Starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews * Publishers Weekly * Library Journal

Named a “Must-Read” by TODAY, Us Weekly, Bustle, BuzzFeed, Goodreads, Entertainment Weekly, Publishers Weekly, Southern Living, Book Riot, Woman’s Day, The Toronto Star, and more!

For two sworn enemies, anything can happen during the Hawaiian trip of a lifetime—maybe even love—in this romantic comedy from the New York Times bestselling authors of Roomies.

Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion...she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas.

Olive braces herself for wedding hell, determined to put on a brave face, but when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. Suddenly there’s a free honeymoon up for grabs, and Olive will be damned if Ethan gets to enjoy paradise solo.

Agreeing to a temporary truce, the pair head for Maui. After all, ten days of bliss is worth having to assume the role of loving newlyweds, right? But the weird thing is...Olive doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, the more she pretends to be the luckiest woman alive, the more it feels like she might be.

With Christina Lauren’s “uniquely hilarious and touching voice” (Entertainment Weekly), The Unhoneymooners is a romance for anyone who has ever felt unlucky in love.

This was just okay. Honestly, the narrator’s voice for any male voice was super bro-y and VERY hand to listen to without cringing. Took the moments that should have been sweeter lines in the book feel like an icky frat boy was saying them. If I read the physical book I may have given this 4 stars

Really liked the first half of the book, couldn’t say the same on the second half. The ending was meh. It was a light read without really diving deeper into the issues. The bickering was funny but that’s just it.

I needed more punch. It just floated through the romance, the sub plots etc. Not my fav!

I have yet to read the book but the audiobook was terrible! The switch to a male voice was so jarring and annoying I had to stop listening.

I didn't like the lucky v unlucky theme of this twin sisters' story, but I did enjoy the growing growing relationship between Olive and Ethan. The "enemies" origin story (curds?) made no sense, but the banter and bickering was fun.

It's not a huge complaint (because its a common offense), but after starting the book with a Huge Coincidence (they were the only ones not to get violently ill at the wedding), it was a bit much to add 2 more Huge Coincidences in Hawaii.

    They're all from Minnesota. Seriously?

And I wasn't a fan of certain employment/career choices. Olive had a PhD for crying out loud. And having the Hamiltons reappear, and how that was handled, just seemed weird.

This is a 3.5 story for me, but I'm rounding up because I really liked the core of the story in Maui.

Just meh. No spice. Annoying characters. Couldn’t wait for it to be over. Would not recommend.

It’s good but at times I felt really irritated with the protagonists and the mind boggling mistakes. Plot was decent at times it felt like the flow would shift from fast paced to leisurely and sometimes the cliche of some of the scenes were cringe but I enjoyed it and listened to it all in one sitting.

Nice story. Nice and light. The only downside was the narrator. I didn't enjoy the voice for the main, male character. Just something to bare in mind.

Storyline: Cheesy & Predictable which is not necessarily a bad thing for a romance novel.

Writing Style: Amateur which stretched the reading for this book out for me because I could only take the typical metaphors and the say not show writing for so long.

The story is a sweet and lighthearted. However, at times I felt like I was listening to Siri reading it.

Hilarious duo. This story kept me interested and I didn’t see the twists that came up in the story towards the end. Loved it!

Book seems funny but the reader's voice is all wrong and way too exaggerated. Ruins a lot of the comedy and makes the male lines annoying

2.5 I don’t know if it’s the genre or the book (although I do fine with fanfics that have this vibe) but this book wasn’t for me. Don’t mind I was screaming at the MC to do the total opposite (truly, I’d be a terrible heroine). Honestly, this wasn’t the enemies to lovers story I was hoping (think Carry On... jezus even Adam Silvera in his last not so high reviewed last book). I’m very disappointed but mostly at myself because this wasn’t a terrible book. It had a good structure and okay characters with questionable actions. Okay, their behavior wasn’t the most believable at times (excuse you, even Rachel believed Phoebe when she told her Paolo made a move on her). Now I’m craving a good fluffy story :/

A fun enemies-to-lovers story. Overall the story was a light read with all the delicious elements I like in an E2L story: mutual misunderstandings, an initially uncomfortable move toward liking each other, one person finally giving in and then they both finally diving in and discovering (shocker) they really like each other! The book got better when they returned home and had to deal with reality. I thought the emotional toil of the second half was handed sensitively. And the grand gesture at the end was adorable and made me smile. Some of the characters were a little one-dimensional, but these were minor points. Some parts of the story were a little too predictable, and even with the crazy premise, it seemed laughable that some parts of the story would happen. Like the person (no spoilers) that Olive runs into in the spa. But I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a fun, lighthearted read.

It's a quick story without any depth in characters. I enjoyed listening to it while doing other things, but I would not have finished the physical book.

Loved reading the book but listening sucked. I thought it was being narrated by Siri. The groom and his brother / best friend sounded like the stupid surfer Sean Penn in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I’ll stick to reading rom coms instead of listening to them.
