About this audiobook

New York Times Bestseller

Erin Sterling casts a delightful spell with a spine-tingling romance full of wishes, witches, and hexes gone wrong.

“A delightful and witty take on witchy mayhem.” — Popsugar

Nine years ago, Vivienne Jones nursed her broken heart like any young witch would: vodka, weepy music, bubble baths…and a curse on the horrible boyfriend. Sure, Vivi knows she shouldn’t use her magic this way, but with only an “orchard hayride” scented candle on hand, she isn’t worried it will cause him anything more than a bad hair day or two.

That is until Rhys Penhallow, descendent of the town’s ancestors, breaker of hearts, and annoyingly just as gorgeous as he always was, returns to Graves Glen, Georgia. What should be a quick trip to recharge the town’s ley lines and make an appearance at the annual fall festival turns disastrously wrong. With one calamity after another striking Rhys, Vivi realizes her silly little Ex Hex may not have been so harmless after all.

Suddenly, Graves Glen is under attack from murderous wind-up toys, a pissed off ghost, and a talking cat with some interesting things to say. Vivi and Rhys have to ignore their off the charts chemistry to work together to save the town and find a way to break the break-up curse before it’s too late.

I would say this book is like Sabrina the Teenage Witch but with sex. Such a cute read! Hoping for another one. I would love to hear the Reeces’ brothers stories. I would recommend this book to a friend.

Narration was fast paced with odd inflections and tones. The content of the book was surface level in way of magical world building but a fun easy listen.

Story is just okay, nothing spectacular, and that narration is just so bad!!!

Without a doubt, this is the absolute worst audio narrator I have ever listened to. I kept having to force myself to ignore her and focus on the story, but it was so hard. She gave odd enunciations to sentences, and then over pronounced when a word ended in a “t”. Honestly it felt like she made every character some 90 year old proper old lady. I can’t believe they chose her for this.

Predictable story with a terrible reading. It wasn’t so much the acting as the fact that there were a handful of characters that were British but no accent. Hearing British slang with an American accent is just…wrong. All of the great voice actors looking for work and this is the best they could come up with.

Can’t say much about the story but narration just ruined it. She keeps doing this thing with her voice for every sentence I don’t know if I can finish the audiobook. Probably just gonna stick to reading it

The narrator has no concept of full stops, not to mention the spoiled high school girl intonation. She truly ruined the listening experience

The audio on this book is messed up. The location the narrator is at does not match with the chapters on the app. Plus near the end the book completely skipped over a huge chunk and I have no idea how to figure out what I missed. I was enjoying this book but really can’t say how I feel until I know the ending.

This is a fun, easy read. But only in a romance novel could a woman have multiple orgasms from a man's touch. (ha ha)

I’m still listings to the book but I felt it necessary to note that the voice actor’s performance so far leaves a lot to be desired. The reading feels completely unnatural and takes away from the story quite a bit because once you notice it, you won’t be able to not hear it. The best way I can describe it is that she pronunciates her words as she reads, nobody would ever speak like that in daily life. It’s completely unnatural given the background of the characters and the setting of the story. Nobody talks like that unless they’re giving a university dissertation or something.

Loved the characters and especially Rhys. It didn't end like I expected and it was better for it.

Loved the story line and the light humor. I listened to the audiobook and liked the narrator but not all the time. Wish that since the male protagonist was Welch it was with more of a Welch accent.

This was a miss for me! I wanted to enjoy it, but it didn’t do it for me. I felt it was more of a juvenile witchy magic book; however,

This was cute and entertaining. It had just the right amount of witchery for me. Definitely has steamy parts which isn't my norm. A great fun Halloween read for any romance fan.

3.5. Quite enjoyed this! Didn’t try to be anything other than fluffy and whimsical and I appreciate that. Not so found of the breathy/whiny/sultry voice the narrator puts on for Vivian tho.

This was a great light, but complex read and the narrator just elevated it to the next level! All the characters were likable. There was a sprinkle of light humor or humorous situations throughout and some plot twists. The author did a good job of bringing the MFC world to life. Very well done!

    Stifler's mom does the robot...
When the narrator does any of the female voices, she sounds like Jennifer Coolidge doing a robot voice. It's nearly unbearable. She sounds normal when she voices the male characters, which leads me to believe this voice acting is a choice. It's not good.
The story itself is a very simple, cheesy rom com. It had some funny moments and some sweet ones. Probably like a 1.5 on the spice level. While I started to struggle to pay attention the last 8 chapters, it was what I needed after reading a very popular dark romance.

The story was good, and I enjoyed it. However, the narration could have been better. I listened at 1.2 speed which made it easier to get through.

Yikes! It was bad, like really bad :/. The story was like a 2/5 but the narrator was so bad it made you want to cringe! Her voice was so strange and off paced and her word inflections were downright awful!

The narration is awful, I can't focus on the story when the way she's ending sentences keeps bugging me so much.
