I really wanted to love this books the narrators were good but honestly the book was slow and felt like a chore to get through. I think butcher and blackbird was good for me because joe Arden and Lucy rivers made it good with their performances. I like these narrators but for some reason this was just boring I don’t even know if I can finish. I’m on chapter 21 and I always finish a book when I invest this much time but it’s killing me to get through. I’m glad I didn’t spend money on this I’d definitely be annoyed if I spent my money or a credit on it

The book itself is amazing. Not as intense as B&B, Lachlan is a huge cinnamon roll. Seriously love how Brynne Weaver developed his character. Lark didn’t feel as developed imo, but it was enough.

Even though I gave it 5 stars, I’m just not crazy about the voice the VA used for Lachlan. I have misophonia, a neurological disorder that makes me very sensitive to sounds, and the voice was just too much for me. I like Eric Nolan’s actual voice, and the voices he did for other characters were top tier. I just couldn’t handle the Budget Batman thing he had going on.

Other than that, great book!

I cannot stand this audiobook voice actor. I don’t understand her choices. She’s made Lark’s accent so distinct and different from the last audiobook, it’s jarring. It makes her a completely different character and is really too old-sounding for Lark. And the reader’s intonation where the end of every question is kind of flattened (I’m not sure how else to describe it) is so irritating and seems, idk, unprofessional? amateurish? This reader is going in my won’t-listen list. I’m listening at 2.5x speed and I might still DNF.

Wow! This was my first romance audiobook and it did not disappoint! I don’t even know if you can call what happened between The characters in this book romance. But, the plot was great with plenty of HOT smut. And that bonus chapter… damn. There are a few plot holes I’m wondering if those will be filled in with the next book. I loved Ethyl. The voice actors and their narration was so well done it had me enthralled through the entire book. I loved the storyline and thought Lachlan and Lark's chemistry was so steamy and intense, I could feel it through my earbuds. Watching Lachlan help Lark through her trauma and the ghosts of her past was actually heartwarming, even though it may have been dark , it showed why Lachlan was such a loveable bad guy. These two are couple goals....listening to Lachlan (especially his POV chapters) was definitely....wow! ?
